Coming Spring by Mary Botham Howitt 春至

March 20 is vernal equinox, the first day of spring.   To celebrate the arrival of spring, a poem is translated for fun:

Coming Spring

春至
玛丽。博萨穆。豪伊特

In all the years which have been,
The spring hath green'd the bough -
The gladsome hopeful spring-time! -
Keep heart! It comes even now.

岁岁年年春又至
千枝万树绿如烟
欢愉美愿三春时
且待和风扫冻寒

The winter-time departeth;
The early flowers expand;
The blackbird and the turtle-dove
Are heard throughout the land.

霜雪严寒才遁去
芳菲朵朵展娇颜
黑鹂斑鸠翩翩舞
唱响人间二月天

The sadness of the winter,
Which gloom'd our hearts, is gone:
A thousand signs betoken
That spring-time comes anon.

冬雪凄凄侵肺腑
晴阳暖暖化忧烦
千般迹象皆昭示
明媚春天在眼前

'Tis spring-time in our bosoms;
All strife aside we cast;
The storms were for the winter-days,
But they are gone and past.

融融春日心头驻
尘世纷争散九天
昨日风啸千里雪
今朝柳絮舞团团

Before us lies the spring-time-
Thank God, the time of mirth -
When birds are singing in the trees,
And flowers gem all the earth;

感谢上苍赐春光
和风煦日暖人间
枝头燕雀欢声唱
花若宝石嵌山川

When a thousand busy hands upturn
The bounteous, fruitful mould,
And the heart of every poet feels
More love than it can hold.

耕种时节无闲人
阡陌之上舞铁锨
桃红柳绿生诗意
才子情浓纸作田

后记：

1.
The sadness of the winter,
Which gloom'd our hearts, is gone:

冬雪凄凄侵肺腑
晴阳暖暖化忧烦

这两句好像最费脑筋。


2.
练习用七言翻译，但力有不逮，有的地方平仄仍对不上。有空再改，先勉强隔行押韵就算了。
